An Outstanding Experience

At our Salon, we thrive on providing each and every client who walks through the doors the best possible service we can offer. That’s why we have some basic policies in place to ensure everyone enjoys their O'neill-jones Hair and Beauty experience. They’re not rules, they’re just some general things to keep in mind to make sure your experience with us goes as smoothly as possible.

Patch testing 

24-48 hours before. 

The patch test will need to be done 48 - 24 hours prior to the appointment. If the test produces a reaction on the client’s skin, then the hair dye should not be applied.

Prior to the patch test the stylist will ask you a few questions to ensure that it is safe for us to apply the colour sample to your skin for the patch test.

We will then ask to apply a small amount of the hair dye mixture behind the ear, and advise that it should not be washed for the next 48 hours (unless an allergic reaction takes place)

A reaction from Paraphenylenediamine usually just results in burning, itching, blistering or swelling to the area where the patch test is applied.

A severe allergic reaction to Paraphenylenediamine could result in contact urticaria and in extreme cases, anaphylaxis.

If you do have an allergic reaction to the patch test you will not be able to use any oxidation type hair dyes. You should inform the hair salon of your reaction and not book in any future colour appointments.

You should also alert your Doctor to let them know that you have had an allergic reaction to Paraphenylenediamine.

Late Arrivals and cancellations 

Inform Us in Advance

We understand that due to your busy schedule, you may find yourself running late. If you think you are going to be late, please call and let us know. If you are more than 15 minutes late, your appointment may be reopened or given away to another client. If we keep the appointment for you, we may not be able to complete the full service you booked. 

Stuff happens, and sometimes you need to cancel your appointment with us. We get it. If you need to cancel more than 24 hours before your appointment, just give us a call or shoot us a message letting us know.
